Projects like this come along all too infrequently. Grace & Co were a little tired of their boutique agency’s website, but didn’t want to stray too far from the current colours and imagery.
We suggested making bold halftone versions of some new imagery. They loved the initial treatment that we showed them, and told us to run with it.
So run with it we did.
We revamped the current imagery and found some new, related images and gave them the same treatment. Then we chose just the Pink and Green from the palette, upped the chroma little, and used black and white for the rest.
The typography was boosted: bold and all upper case. The images were given a white outline, and they really popped.
Michael hired a fantastic developer, and we formed a tight unit on the build. We have rarely seen a design followed so closely by a developer. Beautiful parallax movement really added to a slick user experience.
We used the Purple from the palette sparingly, for communication messages such as banners and the Chat icon. And, as much as we love the Mobile experience, the negative space in the Desktop layouts really works.
All in all, the site was a joy to work on, from start to finish. Rarely has the relationship between client, designer and developer been so easy.
